About

Mr. Time Attack.. a.k.a, Nikolas Malechikos.  Husband, Father, Motorsport Nut…..and gardener.  😉

For those who aren’t aware of my motorsport background:  I co-founded Redline Track Events in 2004 after having successfully hosted several High Performance Driving Events (HPDE’s) between 2002-2004. Beginning in 2003, I played an instrumental roll in the creation of the Focus Challenge Series, MINI Challenge and Honda/Acura Challenge series (handicapped-based time trial series). This lead to my idea on a napkin (quite literally) to create a time trial series for ALL makes and models. In 2005 we held our first Redline Time Attack test event at Auto Club Speedway, followed by the first official Redline Time Attack event at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park in November 2005.

Redline Time Attack is to this day the most successful time attack series to be organized in North America, based on size, scope, duration,  relevance and impact on the industry. From the largest crowds of spectators, the highest car counts per event (100+ at several events), most number of events and breadth of media coverage.

I chose to walk away from Redline Time Attack in August of 2011 when it became very clear it was the best decision for myself individually,  as well as for my future ability to contribute to the industry and sport I am so passionate about.

Never one to give up, I quickly created the North American Championships of Speed, holding the inaugural event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in November 2011. The stage is set for the 2nd annual Championships of Speed this December at Auto Club Speedway in Southern California!

This blog will contain some fairly random bits of information, driver interviews, industry insights and perspective,  to behind the scenes looks of the sport of Time Attack, the North American Championships of Speed (www.ChampionshipsOfSpeed.com) and the MotoIQ.com Pacific Tuner Car Championships (www.MotoIQ.com).
